BreakTV.com Chosen by Microsoft

BreakTV.com brings prime-time previews to new Windows Media Player 7

Microsoft Windows Media Player has asked BreakTV.com to participate in the launch of the new Windows Media Player 7.  The new release will feature interesting sites for Internet surfers using Windows Media Player to view streaming video. BreakTV.com will be one of only six websites providing Microsoft with links to broadband content.

“We are very excited to be participating in Microsoft’s Windows Media Player7 launch,” said Joe Nassour, CEO.  “Being part of Microsoft Media Player7 will help us reach our target audience in a faster, more direct manner.”

Internet surfers will find daily suggestions for broadband streaming on their Windows Media Player 7 every time they launch it. When they choose a BreakTV.com selection, they will be transported to a specific BreakTV.com page where they will be able to view video streams, learn more about the program and, most importantly, be able to find that program in their local area.

“That is what BreakTV.com was designed to do,” said Chuck Pennock, Executive Vice President, Marketing. “We promote branded television programs on the internet via streaming video highlights. We give the ‘net surfers a taste and drive them back to traditional television for the full experience.”

BreakTV.com has grown into a premier Internet entertainment magazine, featuring streaming video stories on many major television network programs including “Arabian Nights” on ABC Television Network. “We have developed into something similar to Entertainment Tonight or Access Hollywood on the Internet,” said Tony Nassour, creator of BreakTV.com and EVP of Creative Affairs. “Because we are on demand, you can choose to watch the stories that interest you.”

“BreakTV.com is not just a great place to check out primetime programming,” said Joe Nassour. “We highlight many popular TV shows on cable, in syndication and pay-per-view.”  New shows are constantly being featured.  Recently, “America’s Dumbest Criminals,” the fourth most popular syndicated weekly half hour*, was added, along with the Miss Hawaiiantropicgirls.com internet beauty pageant held in conjunction with the Miss Hawaiian Tropic International 2000 contest in Las Vegas. BreakTV.com also features original programming, such as “Comedy Break from the Improv,” starring the top comedians appearing at Budd Friedman’s world famous Improv Comedy Clubs, and “Who’s Watching Who?” an irreverent sketch comedy in the “Monty Python” vein produced exclusively for the internet.
