FOUNDER
OF THE WORLD FAMOUS IMPROV COMEDY
CLUB MOVES STAND-UP COMEDY TO THE INTERNET
Produced
in association with BreakTV.com
Hollywood, CA, March 2, 2000
- Budd Friedman,
founder of the world famous Improv comedy clubs, has moved stand-up
to the internet. Web
surfers in need of a laugh can catch highlights of today’s funniest
comedians on Comedy Break from The
Improv. The quick hits of
wit promote the comics who will be appearing at The Improv clubs around
the country. Internet users
can get in on the fun by clicking on improvclubs.com or visiting BreakTV.com,
which is streaming video of the promotional highlights via broadband.
Friedman,
who pioneered television’s stand-up craze a few years back with An Evening At The Improv, is once again in the forefront of a coming
trend – broadband – with Comedy
Break from The Improv. Millions
of people are turning to the ‘net for information and entertainment.
However, nothing compares to the experience of live entertainment.
“We combine the two, giving people entertaining information about
who will be appearing in their area soon,” explained Friedman.
“It will also give them a chance to check out a comedian they may
not have seen before.”
The Improv has been testing the concept with BreakTV.com since late last
year. BreakTV.com is an entertainment promotional website which
officially launched on January 26 of this year at the NATPE convention.
The
Improv Comedy Club proudly features the nation's hottest stand up comics.
Founded by Budd Friedman in the mid 60's in New York City, The Improv
became the premiere venue where up and coming comics could perfect their
craft. Today the Improv
continues to feature the hottest stand up comics.
The company’s roster has included such stars as Tim Allen,
Robin Williams, Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Roseanne, Steven Wright, Bette
Midler, Dennis Miller, Rodney Dangerfield, Lilly Tomlin, Ellen Degeneres,
Drew Carey and Jim Carey. Described
by Friedman, “You really can log on to see tomorrow's superstars of
comedy today at The World Famous Improv.”
Comedy
Break From The Improv is being produced in association with BreakTV.com.
