"God,
the Devil and Bob," the animated comedy that was among NBC's new
mid-season comedies announced earlier this week, was previewed
on Thursday, March 9 and premiered in its regular
day and time period on Tuesday, March 14 (8:30-9:00 pm ET).
"God,
the Devil and Bob" features a stellar cast that includes the voices
of Emmy Award winner James Garner ("The Rockford Files") as
God,
Tony
Award winner Alan Cumming ("Cabaret") as the Devil,
and French Stewart (NBC's "3rd Rock from the Sun") as
Bob. In addition, Emmy Award winner Laurie Metcalf
("Roseanne") plays Bob's wife, Donna; Emmy Award winner Nancy
Cartwright (Bart Simpson on "The Simpsons") voices the role of
Bob's rebellious teenage daughter, Megan; and Kath Soucie ("Rugrats,
the Movie") provides the voice of Bob's lovable six-year-old son,
Andy. "God, the Devil and Bob" focuses on
the modern-day
problems of an ordinary 32-year-old Detroit auto worker, Bob Alman, who
has been hand-picked by the Devil, in a deal with God, to prove that
mankind is worth saving. Thus, as Bob copes with the daily stress
of work and family, he must also wage a constant battle between good and
evil. To complicate matters, only Bob and his young son, Andy, can
actually see God and the Devil, so none of his family or friends beleive
that he is now a "messenger of God."
"God,
the Devil and Bob" is a production of Vanity Logo Productions and
NBC Studios,Inc., in association with The Carsey-Werner Company.
Mathhew Carlson and Harvey
Myman ("Men Behaving Badly") are executive producers, as well
as Marcy Carsey, Tome Werner
and Caryn
Mandabach (shared credits for "3rd Rock from the Sun,"
"Cosby" and "That '70s Show").
