The '70s
(Continued)
Using
archival news footage, fiction and music, "The '70s" evokes a
decade that began with the mufeer of four students at Kent State and saw
three U.S. Presidencies, the Watergate scandal, the end of the Vietnam
War, the rise of the women's movement, a surreal mass suicide, a
proliferation of happy face stickers, disco and Donna Summer.
If you were a fashion animal in the '70s, you had to have the
following: bell bottoms, Puka beads, polyester leisure suits (yes,
people really did wear them), white dress shoes, mood rings, tie-dyed
shirts, colored tights and dangle earrings. Hair was long for men,
layered for women or, if your hair could handle it, an afro.
