Survivor
(continued)
A
tropical island in the South China Sea. Eight men and eight women are
marooned. They must band together to find food, water and shelter
-- and build a world for themselves. Yet, every
week they vote to
expel one person from the island. The
last one left on the island wins $1 million.
This adventure, chronicled by multiple camera crews, is coming to you
this summer from CBS.
These
16 men and women will brave the elements, exotic animals and each other
to survive 39 days and win $1 million. This highly anticipated
reality-adventure series is hosted by Jeff Probst (VH1's
"Rock and Roll Jeopardy") and will be broadcast for 13
consecutive weeks beginning Wednesday, May 31.
"This
experience has been everything we imagined and more," said the
series' executive producer, Mark Burnett, speaking from the remote
island where production on the series is ongoing. "Each day
brings an exciting new chapter, as unexpected relationships develop and
personal dramas unfold before our cameras. There are no quitters
among this courageous group of thrill-seekers."
The
eight men and eight women selected represent a diverse group of
individuals with varying backgrounds and geographic origins. The
"survivors" span in age from 22 to 72, with occupations that
include attorney, neurologist, homemaker and mother, truck driver,
retired Navy SEAL, river guide and traveling salesman.
Each
of the 13 one-hour episodes will conclude with a tribal council in which
the "survivors" vote to eliminate one of their peers from the
island. Once the competition is narrowed down to two finalists,
the ultimate $1 million winner will be selected by a panel of expelled
participants who will vote to choose the final survivor.
