Producers
of ABC's Newest Reality Series, "The Mole," Launch Nationwide
Search for 10 Adventurous Contestants
Daring Individuals Must Log On to http://www.abc.com
for an Official Application and Complete Instructions
ABC's newest
reality series, "The Mole," begins its search today for the 10
lucky contestants who'll comete for a chance to travel the world, take
on exhilarating challenges, and win up to a million dollars in
cash. Based on an international phenomenon, "The Mole,"
produced by Stone Stanley Entertainment for air on ABC during the
2000-01 season, is an intense, gripping reality series that follows ten
demographically diverse contestants as theywork together to complete a
series of difficult physical and psychological tasks. Each task is
worth a set amount of money and the more tasks the team completes, the
more money the winner takes home.
One of the
contestants, however, is a "mole," or saboteur, whose goal is
to foil the efforts of the other nine contestants without revealing his
or her identity. At the end of each one-hour episode, the group is
given a quiz on The Mole's identity. The player who knows the
least information about The Mole is then immediately sent home. In
the final dramatic episode, The Mole is revealed and the one remaining
player wins all the money.
Potential
contestants should log on to:
http://www.abc.com
for an application
and complete instructions. In addition to the completed
application, contestants will be asked to submit a three-minute or under
presentation videotape explaining why they would be an "ideal"
contestant for "The Mole." "Ideal" contestants
should be daring, outgoing, intuitive and flexible (an approximate
25-day commitment is required). Spirited individuals from all age
groups (21 and older) and walks of life are encouraged to apply for this
international adventure. Stone Stanley Entertainment and ABC have
declared it a priority to find a diverse range of participants.
Deadline for submission is September 2, 2000.
Additionally, "The Mole" will announce open contestant
auditions in select U.S. cities including: New York, Los Angeles,
Chicago, Atlanta and Denver. Specific dates and locations will be
available shortly on www.abc.com
. Based on the open auditions and videotape submissions, up to 75
candidates will be selected and flown to Los Angeles for a final round
of interviews. From them, the official contestants will be chosen.
