"These
Old Broads," a two-hour comedy written by Carrie Fisher
("Postcards from the Edge"), and Elaine Pope ("Seinfeld")
and starring four of Hollywood's most legendary stars(Shirley MacLaine,
Debbie Reynolds, Joan Collins and Elizabeth Taylor.
Jonathan
Silverman ("The Single Guy," "Weekend at Bernie's"),
Nester Carbonell ("Suddenly Susan"), Peter Graves
("Mission Impossible"), Gene Barry and Pat Harrington also
star in the film which was shot on location in Los Angeles.
"These
Old Broads" revolves around Kate Westburn (Ms. MacLaine), Addie
Holden (Ms. Collins) and Piper Grayson (Ms. Reynolds), three great stars
of Hollywood's golden age of movie musicals. Their careers are suddenly
revived when the one film they made together unexpectedly becomes a huge
cult hit in re-release.
Seeing a
golden opportunity to save his precarious network job, a television
executive (Mr. Carbonell) proposes a reunion special and hires the son
(Mr. Silverman) of one of the leading ladies to put it together. The
women's long-time agent, the equally legendary Beryl Mason (Ms. Taylor),
makes a smart deal, and rehearsals begin. But old feuds and petty
jealousies suddenly take hold and both the special and the women's
newfound fame and fortune are suddenly threatened.
